HUMILITY & ACHIEVEMENT James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  One of the many values at this school that we are striving to see in each and every one of you, is humility…the ability to be humble. The opportunity to be humble is a huge privilege, because you had to achieve…in order to be humble. Laas Maandag het ons die Top 10 in die Saal aangekondig…Daar is die oorweldigende feesviering van prestasie in ons skool…en dis reg so! Uitmuntendheid en voortreflikheid is verseker

TEAMWORK & GRIT – The golden thread of our school’s success.  Psalm 40:2 ‘He lifted me up from the pit of despair, out of the miry clay; He set my feet upon a rock, and made my footsteps firm.’ Die afgelope week was ek en baie van julle betrokke by funksies waar ons vir die matrieks totsiens en dankie gesê het. Wat vir my opvalend was, is die hoeveelheid mense wat dankie gesê het aan ANDER in die skool wat hulle GEHELP het en BYGESTAAN het om die vlak van sukses te behaal, wat hulle wel behaal het. Die feit dat dit ‘n konstante tema was van uiteenlopende persoonlikhede en prestasies, hy my weereens laat besef dat ons nie ‘n eiland is nie…dat ons nie op ons eie kan funksioneer nie EN het my so bietjie aan die Springbokke se motto laat dink: “Better together” of “Stronger together”. 1 Cor 10:13: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it”. This boils down to that God will NEVER give you more than what you can handle. Baie van ons het na ‘n lang kwartaal die gevoel van onvergenoegdheid…wow, dis ‘n groot woord! Dit kom maar daarop neer dat ons voel dat ons onderpresteer het of onvervuld is. Dit mag tydends die toetsreeks wees, tydens die sport seisoen, selfs dat jy nie een van die hoofrolle van volgende jaar se Play gemaak het nie…van ons sukkel dalk net in die algemeen met, jy voel jy is in ‘n gat, moontlik depressief maar net nie in ‘n goeie plek nie… Daar is ‘n ongekende druk op almal van ons. Niemand van ons voel ons het

Last week it was: “IT’S COOL TO LOVE YOUR SCHOOL” This week: I have a dream… or I had a dream…but now, actually, I am living my dream. What a weekend we had as a school…or even what a week we had! Noudat ek aan julle genoem het wat ek geobserveer het, kom ons hoor gou wat sê die Bybel. Hebreërs 12:1 – “Met so ‘n magtige skare toeskouers rondom ons, om ons in die wedloop van die geloof dop te hou – kom ons stroop alles af wat ons spoed kan vertraag, veral die sonde wat so maklik ‘n houvas op ‘n mens kry. Kom ons hardloop met volharding op die baan wat voor ons uitgestrek lê.” Now, I have a dream of a school that will be competitive in ALL we do! Academics, Sport, Culture and serving with pride and gratitude as part of the Service pillar. I
