As we reach the end of this term, we stand at the halfway mark of our school year. Twenty-twenty-thrive! Some of you walked here, some of you crawled, and some of you might have mentally checked out a week ago – but here we are! Maybe this is a moment to hit the pause button, to reflect and hopefully to recharge!
To all the HERMIES, well done! You have worked hard, hopefully grown wiser…definitely faced some huge challenges and hopefully discovered more about who you are and what you are capable of. Whether this was your best term yet OR whether it tested your limits – you made it here…and that is something to be proud of.
Graad 8’s…julle is al halfpad met julle eerste jaar in die Hoërskool…kan julle dit glo EN natuurlik aan die Matrieks, julle het nog net 1 volle kwartaal oor!! Dan is dit alles verby.
Aan ons onderwysers en personeel – Dankie! Julle het laat nagte oorleef, vroeë oggende, teenage mood swings, you are the real hero’s! Your dedication, your patience and your passion are the backbone of this school. YOU keep the wheels turning and the spirit strong!
Ons het die eksamen oorleef en daar is rapporte wat vandag uitgegee gaan word, huistoe gan gaan…en soos ek laas kwartaal ook genoem het, gee dit sommer onmiddelik vir jou ouers…kry daai ongemaklike oomblik uit die pad sodat jy vir die res van die vakansie kan ontspan!
As we close off the term, I want to share this verse from Galatians 6:9
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap the harvest if we do not give up”
This is your halftime reminder: Keep going. The hard work you’re putting in may not always show immediately, but it will pay off in time – whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or in your personal growth.
Rest well this holiday. Sleep a little, laugh a lot, and maybe – just maybe – do some reading that that doesn’t involve WhatsApp messages or TikTok subtitles.
Geniet die vakansie! – Rus, lag, speel en spandeer tyd saam met jou familie en kyk mooi na jouself. Kom terug veilig…almal van julle volgende kwartaal en…ready as HERMIES, to do the 2nd part of twenty-twenty-thrive! Bigger, better and even closer to EXCELLENCE.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for looking after us during this VERY busy 2nd term. Thank you for all the opportunities we’ve had. Help us to make you proud, help us to remember who we are during the holidays and to NOT forget what we stand for and to represent you well.
Help us te be able to rest well, recharge our batteries and spend some quality time with our families.
Bless and protect the school please Lord and bring everyone safely back to school after the holidays. We pray this in your name,
