Principal’s Assembly Message 20 March 2024

Don’t ever doubt whether you are special or worth it…YOU ARE!

PS 23:1-4: ‘n Psalm. Van Dawid. Die Here is my herder; ek ly nie gebrek nie. 2In groen weivelde laat Hy my rus; na water waar daar rusplek is, lei Hy my. 3Hy gee my nuwe lewenskrag; Hy lei my op die regte paaie ter wille van sy Naam. 4Selfs as ek in die donkerste kloof ingaan, is ek nie bang vir gevaar nie, want U is by my. Dit is u staf en u stok wat my gerusstel.

How many of us hasn’t gone through tough times the past month? I can think of a few experiences you might have gone through, where you have been scared. A few that I can think of are: (1) The test series that we have just finished (2) telling your parents about your test results – giving them your report today (3) Playing a sports match against a very good team (4) Having to sing a solo in front of a big audience…and it goes on.

I have seen many of the sportsmen writing a bible verse on their strapping or memorising a short verse that they say out loud before they have to do something…a screensaver, a sticker of just some music on your playlist.

Don’t ever doubt whether you are special or worth it…YOU ARE!…and because you are loved and have nothing to DO or PROVE yourself worthy…you can go into this holiday with confidence that you are okay…

Whatever you do during these next two weeks, enjoy! If you are doing nothing…rest well and charge your batteries. If you are representing the school, make us, your parents and the school proud. Whatever the challenge, just know that you can do it! And don’t take my word for it, but tap into the many promises from the Bible!

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for looking after us during this VERY busy first term. Thank you for all the opportunities we’ve had. Help us to make you proud, help us to remember who we are during the holidays and to NOT forget what we stand for and to represent you well.

Help us also to remember whatever the challenge that we may face, YOU are bigger and stronger and that nothing is too much for you.

Bless and protect the school please Lord and bring everyone safely back to school after the holidays. We pray this in your name.

AMEN

Mr MJ Smuts
