Principal's Message

Nurturing Integrity, Fostering Excellence

Principal’s Assembly Message 9 March 2026

Last week we discussed “Believe the BEST & build healthy relationships”…it was all about how we treat others AND relationships with others. This week I want to talk to you about HOW YOU TREAT YOURSELF…under the Title of How we deal with disappointment. So, at some point in life, every single one of us will face disappointment. And once that has happened, you might feel like failure defines you. But there is something important to remember: Failure is an event – it is not your identity. Every successful person you admire has experienced disappointment. Athletes lose races.

Last week…”How we deal with disappointment” Resilience vs Balance If there is one thing we can say about young people in South Africa, it is this: you are resilient! You wake up early. You train hard. You travel long distances to school and for matches. You juggle academics, sport, culture, leadership…and still find a way to show up the next day and do it all over again. That’s NOT normal everywhere in the world. That is South African tough. Proudly South African. Our rugby players take hits…and get back up.

Principal’s Assembly Message 27 March 2026

27 March PS 23:1-4 ‘n Psalm. Van Dawid. Die Here is my herder; ek ly nie gebrek nie. 2In groen weivelde laat Hy my rus; na water waar daar rusplek is, lei Hy my. 3Hy gee my nuwe lewenskrag; Hy lei my op die regte paaie ter wille van sy Naam. 4Selfs as ek in die donkerste kloof ingaan, is ek nie bang vir gevaar nie, want U is by my. How many of us hasn’t gone through tough times the past month? I can think of a few experiences you might have gone through, where you have been scared. A few that I can think of are: (1) The test series that we have just finished (2) telling your parents about your test results – giving them your report today (3) Playing a sports match against a very good team (4) Having to sing a solo

Principal’s Assembly Message 8 April 2026

Start this term with a BANG! Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” When you meet someone impressive or is in the presence of somebody impressive, you want to perform and NOT let them down. You want to make a good impression. So when you are in the presence of God…you DEFINITALY want to leave a very positive and lasting impression. So it is not a reset of

Hard Work and Perseverance pay off Harde werk en deursettingsvermoë sal vrugte afwerp. The simple truth that never changes no matter where you are and what you are aiming for: Hard work and perseverance DOES pay off! Not always immediately…but eventually. We live in a world of instant gratification, quick results, Instant feedback, overnight success. But the reality is that anything meaningful – anything that truly lasts – is built slowly, through effort that often goes unseen.

Having each other’s back Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” When you walk onto the schoolgrounds, do you notice what you HAVE…or do you focus on what you LACK? Gratitude changes everything! When we are grateful, we stop taking things for granted – ons vriendskappe, die geleenthede wat oor ons pad kom, ons onderwysers, die fasiliteite wat ons tot ons beskiking het en selfs die uitdagings wat oor ons pad kom wat ons help vorm om die person te word wat die HERE wil hê ons moet wees. Gratitude shifts our mindset from entitlement to appreciation, and appreciation builds character. But gratitude isn’t just something we feel – it’s something we SHOW…and one of the clearest ways to show it is through our WORDS. Words are powerful They can build someone up…or tear someone down. They
