1 Cor 10:13: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it”. This boils down to that God will NEVER give you more than what you can handle.
Baie van ons het na ‘n lang kwartaal die gevoel van onvergenoegdheid…wow, dis ‘n groot woord! Dit kom maar daarop neer dat ons voel dat ons onderpresteer het of onvervuld is. Dit mag tydends die toetsreeks wees, tydens die sport seisoen, selfs dat jy nie een van die hoofrolle van volgende jaar se Play gemaak het nie…van ons sukkel dalk net in die algemeen met, jy voel jy is in ‘n gat, moontlik depressief maar net nie in ‘n goeie plek nie…
Daar is ‘n ongekende druk op almal van ons. Niemand van ons voel ons het genoeg kapasiteit om al die balle in die lug te hou nie. Die druk op ons is ongeken en dit affekteer ons emosies en geestelike gesondheid.
You might even feel that you are in a bit of a hole!
I want to remind you of a saying that I heard the other day…
“Lord, give me the capacity according to the opportunity!” One of the things that you are actually asking for then is a POSITIVE mindset…and that is a choice! A choice of “I will give it my all with the self-belief that I CAN do it and overcome this.” I know that it is easier said than done, but that should be your point of departure.
What opportunities will there be during the holidays, during the 4th term, or even what opportunities did you have during the past term?
There will be a few pupils representing Hermanus High School during the holidays. You will be facing the giants…Lord, give me the capacity according to the opportunity!…what will be your mindset?
Some of you might be involved in a Bullying incident or somebody treating you unfairly. I want to remind you of a saying I have shared with you previously: “Don’t treat people the way YOU want to be treated, treat people the way THEY want to be treated.”
Die hoogste vlak van vervulling gaan saam met die hoogste vlak van uitdagings. Ek wil julle herinner dat die Here sal julle nie in ‘n situasie sit sonder om jou die nodige toerusting, vaardighede, vermoëns asook die regte ingesteldheid te gee nie.
Deuteronomy 28:13 – “You are the head and not the tail, you will be above and not beneath”
Gaan en geniet die vakansie wat vandag begin vir die meeste van ons…skakel lekker af en keer terug na die vakansie met ‘n positiewe, dankbare en oorwinaars ingesteldheid.

Dear Lord, thank you for this amazing third term full of opportunities and possibilities. Thank you for the blessing of a busy term. Please give us the capacity according to the opportunity!” Please be with us during the upcoming holiday. Be with us, keep us safe and help us to return with renewed energy, ready for the 4th term.
