Hermanus High School

Hermanus High School is a co-educational, dual-medium (English and Afrikaans) school with an educational ethos based upon sound Christian values. If one is to read through the mission statement and aims of the school it will become apparent that Hermanus High School believes that a true education extends well beyond the classroom.

Supplying every learner with the best possible academic opportunity available remains our firm priority, while it is ultimately the aim of the school to produce well-balanced and responsible young adults who will be able to take their place in society. In order to do this Hermanus High School strives to ensure an effective education focusing not only on high academic standards, but also through offering opportunities in the sporting, cultural and service spheres of life. Hermanus High School is no ordinary school and the high standard of education your child will receive here is largely due to a team of well-qualified, experienced and motivated staff.

True education extends well beyond the classroom

The school’s outstanding academic results speak for themselves while the number of provincial and national representatives produced on the sports field is indeed impressive. From a cultural perspective there are very few schools which offer the variety of opportunities that Hermanus High School does.

The history of the Hermanus schools stretches as far back as 1868 with the first matric class writing their final exams in 1941. This proud history has ensured a culture and tradition in the school that cannot be bought or created overnight. Together with this tradition come the old school values of respect, manners and firm discipline. All these fine old educational values form an important part of the education offered at the school.
